Chocolate, the Swiss Barry Callebaut acquires D'Orsogna Dolciaria

The Swiss giant has a turnover of over 6 billion a year and will integrate the historic Abruzzo company – The parties have agreed not to disclose the financial terms of the transaction.

Barry Callebaut, a Swiss group that manufactures high-quality chocolate and cocoa-based products and has a turnover of over 6 billion lire a year, announced today that it has completed the acquisition of the historic Abruzzo pastry shop D'Orsogna Dolciaria, specialized in decorations, kicking off the integration process of the two companies. Antoine de Saint-Affrique, CEO of Barry Callebaut, commented: «We are pleased to conclude this agreement with D'Orsogna Dolciaria. The acquisition fits perfectly into our "smart growth" strategy and will allow us to accelerate the development of our Specialties and Decorations sector. D'Orsogna Dolciaria brings a unique wealth of skills and experience that allows us to offer further added value to our food producers and gourmet customers, especially in the ice cream and dairy market segments.». The parties have agreed not to disclose the financial terms of the transaction.
