The US fears Frankenstorm, the perfect storm

In the coming days, tropical hurricane Sandy and a winter storm coming from the north are likely to meet on the American east coast – This could lead to the worst weather phenomenon ever seen in that area in the last hundred years.

The US fears Frankenstorm, the perfect storm

The special effects on which the film "The Perfect Storm" was built are likely to become reality in the coming days off the Atlantic coast of the United States. In fact, hurricane Sandy is advancing from the Caribbean area, causing little damage to oil installations, but has already left behind a trail of 22 dead. From Canada, on the other hand, a winter storm is looming capable of bringing polar air to meet the tropical hurricane.

The American meteorological centers speak of possible damages of a billion dollars and perhaps even more, unless the two phenomena lose strength before their meeting, or unless Sandy's direction suddenly changes. What is certain is that in the short term, on the east coast of the USA, there will be at least three adrenaline-pumping events: October 31st, Halloween night, November 6th, Election Day and in between the fusion of the two weather phenomena, already renamed as a whole with the not very reassuring name of "Frankenstorm". It could turn into the worst natural phenomenon to occur on the American Northeast in the last hundred years.
