Accounts and title in red for Amplifon. The hearing aid company closed the first nine months of the year with a loss of 1,3 million euros: a vertical collapse compared to the net profit of 16,7 million recorded in the same period of 2012. As for the turnover consolidated, fell to 587,2 million, down 1,5% on an annual basis. The negative accounts weigh on Amplifon shares in Piazza Affari, which lost more than two percentage points at the beginning of the afternoon.
The net result - explains the company in a note - was also affected by 5,8 million euros of higher financial charges linked to the early repayment of the syndicated loan made possible by the issue, in July, of a 275 million bond.
THEEbitda of Amplifon recorded a drop of 20,1% over the nine months, to 70,5 million, "affected by the problems of the Dutch market, by the slowdown in turnover in Europe and by a decline in profitability in Asia-Pacific, only partially mitigated from the performance of North America”.
