Monferrato opens the doors of its castles, historic homes, charming relais, its villages, for Golosaria, a weekend of tastes, flavors and culture that takes place on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 September. The traveling festival will involve about thirty locations between Monferrato, Alessandrino and Astigiano, with a series of initiatives of strong cultural and artistic impact, open-air activities in the squares and along paths and vineyards, up to the infernot, a Unesco heritage site since 2014, which – to the detriment of the name – they are places of delight where the best vintages of wine were kept. to discover the territory and its products.
We begin on Saturday with a great novelty: the choice of the new Casa-Maison del Vino in Casale Monferrato, which will not only metaphorically complement – 600 meters as the crow flies – the consolidated presence at the Castle of the Golosario producers, alongside the kitchens of street and craft breweries. In fact, the prestigious halls, courtyards and gardens of La Torre – Hotel Candiani will host the new edition of Barbera&Champagne on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 September, with tastings of Italian and French bubbles and the great Red of these lands, Barbera.
To accompany the tastings, traditional Piedmontese dishes proposed by the Grossi family, owner of the location and of the renowned La Torre restaurant, which has its historic headquarters here.
The Big Bench circuit, the giant benches scattered in many panoramic points of Monferrato, is back again this year after the success of the last edition
Space then for naturalistic walks that embrace all targets: from family walks to more demanding excursions and e-bike journeys. The proposals in many locations: in the Alessandria area in Camino, Cella Monte, Felizzano, Fubine, Ozzano, Rosignano and Vignale Monferrato. In the Asti area, instead, legs on the shoulders of Castell'Alfero, Castelnuovo Don Bosco, Grazzano Badoglio, Montiglio and Scurzolengo.
Wine and food will instead be protagonists in other locations such as the Cella Monte Ecomuseum with a guided tasting of Barbera del Monferrato Superiore Docg, the Castello di Uviglie winery in Rosignano Monferrato with its theory of wines. Grignolino, on the other hand, will be the protagonist in two other countries that are close to our hearts: in Vignale Monferrato, with the prestigious "Friends of Grignolino" award given this year to the economist Giulio Sapelli and the Piedmont Region councilor Vittoria Poggio, and in Grana with the event food and wine “Che Grana il Grignolino”. In Montemagno, however, the Pro Loco will raise the curtain on the Ruchè, also involving the legendary Osteria Da Geppe. To animate this locality, also the prestigious presence of the Montemagno Estate. A certainty, on a par with that – in the sign of designer distillates and art – of the Mazzetti distillery in Altavilla Monferrato.
For art lovers, the opportunity to enter three prestigious locations: the Castle of Gabiano and the Castle of Piea, which will let you visit their decorated rooms and majestic secular parks. But the curtain will also rise on the sixteenth-century Villa Guazzo Candiani in Olivola, a new entry in the Golosaria circuit, which will reveal to visitors the largest Infernot in the whole of Monferrato, and will allow them to discover their regal Albarossa wine, accompanied by author of The Buoi Rossi
The Infernots are also at the center of the programs proposed by the municipality of Ottiglio, alongside the presence of tasting stalls of typical products in the streets of the town, and of Terruggia, which will also set up an interesting open-air art exhibition. Pontestura, on the other hand, combines Art and History at the Palazzo Comunale with the exhibition "Inks and Metals on a panoramic route with a visit to the "Museo del Peso". The party will then continue in Felizzano, Serralunga di Crea, Buttigliera d'Asti, Castell'Alfero, Montechiaro d'Asti, Portacomaro and Montiglio Monferrato with the XII edition of GolosExpo, a consolidated food and wine itinerary among the dishes of Monferrato cuisine.
Finally, this edition celebrates the return of the City of Alexandria. A strong presence in the name of culture and art. Starting with the exhibition dedicated to Carlo Carrà, which can be visited at the Palatium Vetus, headquarters of the Cassa di Risparmio di Alessandria Foundation, which has been the promoter and which has been the main supporter of Golosaria among the Castles of Monferrato since the first edition. As a corollary to the Exhibition, there will be another exhibition of many masterpieces from the Foundation's art collection, ranging from the XNUMXth century to the end of the last century. But the Municipality of Alessandria is also taking the field in full synergy. In this case, the doors will open on the exhibition of the nineteenth-century portrait painter Pietro Sassi at the Sale Comunali d'Arte in via Machiavelli, and on the Marengo Museum, on the occasion of the bicentenary of the death of Napoleon Bonaparte.
