Il 5 marzo prossimo si terrà l’asta da Christie’s New York “Works on Paper, Van Gogh to Freud” con opere su carta appartenute ad una importante collezione familiare.
Da segnalare alcune opere interessanti:
Provenienza: Alfred Strölin, Parigi e Losanna. Collezione privata, Europa, da cui acquisì da quanto sopra intorno al 1910-1920, e da lì per discendenza; asta Christie’s, Londra, 21 giugno 2006, lotto 401. Collezione privata, Regno Unito, da cui è stata acquistata nella suddetta vendita, e quindi per discendenza. Quest’opera è venduta con un certificato fotografico di Madame Chagnaud-Forain e sarà inclusa nel prossimo catalogo ragionato di Jean-Louis Forain preparato da Madame Florence Valdès-Forain.
Provenienza: John Russell, Belle-Île-en-Mer, dono dell’artista intorno al 3 agosto 1888, fino al 1920.
