An exciting journey through the natural and cultural beauties of wine-growing Italy: from Friday 28 July to Sunday 20 August Goblets of Stars returns, the event that will transform the Italian vineyards and squares into places of celebration illuminated by the starry sky, an original event promoted throughout Italy by Wine Tourism Movement to allow wine lovers to immerse themselves in a unique experience, strolling among the rows of vineyards in the moonlight, surrounded by the enchanting atmosphere of the picturesque villages and lively squares, all under a wonderful starry sky.
“This event represents the essence of our commitment to promote Italian wine through a cultural and responsible approach.” – says Nicola D'Auria, President of the Movimento Turismo del Vino – “We are proud to continue to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of our Movement also with Calici di Stelle 2023, with the renewed collaboration of Città del Vino, with a program full of initiatives cultural, ranging from music to entertainment, from art exhibitions to workshops for children. In addition, this year too we will have the opportunity to live a unique food and wine experience, in perfect harmony with the celestial movements.”
Angelo Radica, President of the National Association of Wine Cities which brings together around 480 Municipalities adds that the collaboration with MTV is part of the "awareness of offer the general public of wine lovers an appointment that focuses on the quality of the wine and the beauty of the places for a winning combination. The rich calendar of appointments with wine will also be accompanied by the "movements" of the celestial bodies. In fact, starting from July 28 a spectacular meteor shower of the Delta Aquarids will make it even more magical tasting experience in vigna. Tuesday 1st August immediately presents us with the first full moon of August, for the occasion a Supermoon. August is the favorite month of the "shooting stars", expected for the arrival of the peak of the Perseids. The meteor shower par excellence it will reach its maximum activity starting from the 10th for a sparkling “San Lorenzo Night”.

Sicilia
Sicilian program that opens its doors with Cantine Nicosia on the evening of 9 August, followed by a double appointment on the night of San Lorenzo: the first at the Norman Castle of Salemi organized by the Colomba Bianca winery with live Marsala music, shows, wine tastings and quality food; the second at Vaccaro Vini in Salaparuta, with live music bands, tastings followed by a DJ Set and Photobooth among the vineyards under the starry sky. To close, on 11 August at the Tenute Marchesi di Rampingallo, a wine tasting under the stars.
Basilicata
In the region a special edition for the occasion of the 30th anniversary of MTV, two evenings in Piazza Mario Pagano in Potenza on 3 and 10 August with musical entertainment, tastings of extra virgin olive oil organized by the FIS, exceptional street food and moments of conviviality in the name of good drinking.
Puglia
Special evening that of August 10, to discover the connections between the karst phenomenon and wine with the Casa Vinicola Coppi offering Goblets of Stars at the Grotta del Trullo in Putignano, in combination with the event "Lights in the dark" organized by the Karst Research Group. The night of San Lorenzo will be illuminating for the stars but also for the deepening of the close links between the karst territory and the characteristics of the wines produced on the hills of the Murgia dei Trulli. Also not to be missed is the event at the Cantina Pliniana di Manduria on 17 August with tastings in music, Salento entertainment and excellent food/wine pairings.
Sardinia
Calici di Stelle in Sardegna will be the protagonist on the evening of Wednesday 9 August in the historic center of Sanluri with a night entirely dedicated to street food, entertainment and, of course, many excellent wines adorned with shooting stars.
Molise
Calici di Stelle will be the star in Molise on the night of San Lorenzo, 10 August. And for a real star, what better location than the Castello de Capua with its medieval origins transformed into a Renaissance residence. Its frescoed rooms will create the ideal environment for tasting wines and Molise specialties, in preparation for the vision of shooting stars.
Abruzzo
The special evening in the Aragonese Castle of Ortona returns to Abruzzo, one of the most fascinating locations in the whole region, where it will be possible to taste the labels of the Abruzzo cellars under the starry sky, on the evening of 7 August. An extra star, the Michelin star of the Villa Maiella restaurant in Guardiagrele, will illuminate the event. While for the entire duration of the programming, 17 wineries will be offering activities and initiatives within their cellars.
Emilia Romagna
The Emilian and Romagna wineries will light up the region's starry evenings starting on 2 August in the amphitheater of the Agrivar farm (Palazzo Varignana) with glasses of wine under the stars, poetry readings and music; on 3rd August appointment at Manaresi with a dinner-event based on fish products from Chioggia in collaboration with the Encanto restaurant in Ferrara which will delight the palates of the participants. Double on August 3 with a sublime dinner under the stars at Palazzona di Maggio to immerse yourself in the magical connection between wine, food and stars.
Friuli-Venezia Giulia
In Friuli-Venezia Giulia the calendar of appointments has 13 participating wineries and opens on Friday 28 July. Then, for the entire duration of the event, initiatives will follow in the Friulian cellars which include dinners with local chefs, appointments in the ancient castle of Ruttàrs, a walk in the vineyard at sunset, breathtaking landscapes, insights into astronomical phenomena and of course great wine tastings with the manufacturers. Guaranteed fun until August 20th.
Veneto
On the evenings of 5 and 6 August MTV Veneto will host the tasting of local wines in the luxurious Villa Farsetti in Santa Maria di Sala in collaboration with the Pro Loco Consortium of Decumano. Afterwards, on August 12th, a change of location with Cortina d'Ampezzo to frame the evening organized by Venezia Eventi with tastings of local wines in the elegant Hotel De La Poste restaurant in the suggestive location, giving an unforgettable experience to the lucky patrons.
Trentino Alto Adige
The collaboration between Movimento Turismo del Vino Trentino-Alto Adige and APT Madonna di Campiglio continues. On Saturday 29 July the Location will be the Cascina Zeledria Restaurant in Campo Carlo Magno, set in a splendid alpine landscape. The evening will be opened by an aperitif-tasting with the producers around a small hut just above the hut. After the typical Trentino dinner everything will be ready for the vision of the stars.
The Movimento Turismo del Vin Associationo is a non-profit organization and includes over 800 of the most prestigious wineries in Italy, selected on the basis of specific requirements, first of all that of the quality of the wine tourism welcome. The aim of the association is to promote the culture of wine through visits to production sites. On the one hand, the Movement wants to make the activity and products of the participating wineries more closely known to wine tourists, and on the other, to offer an example of how you can do business in compliance with traditions, environmental protection and of quality agriculture.
The National Association of Wine Cities, born in Siena on 21 March 1987, brings together over 450 Italian Municipalities; works to support and develop the quality of the productions and territories of the Cities of Wine, through initiatives and services in the field of protection, support for development, promotion and information.
In particular, it enhances the wine territories through projects for the dissemination, promotion and development of the tourist vocation of the members. The Association has its legal and operational headquarters in Siena.
