The TG Poste, a live streaming news and aimed at all group employees (but soon also at all citizens who want to keep up to date), it was launched a week ago. After the inaugural speech by CEO Matteo Del Fante, this time it was the turn of the general co-director Giuseppe Lasco, who spoke on a series of topics concerning the Poste universe. Meanwhile, the presence on the territory during the health emergency, still in progress: "Poste Italiane puts people at the centre, making them an essential part of the business strategy, as demonstrated by the commitment and presence in the area in the critical months of the fight against the spread of Covid", said Lasco interviewed by the TG .
“Poste Italiane – continued the manager – gave a demonstration of great organization and efficiency, of substance and content, in the most critical months. Truly, I extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone. We have always been present, we have not retreated a millimeter. The President of the Republic was in Vo' Euganeo for the reopening of the school year, that is precisely one of the Municipalities in which we have been present in every context, at every moment. The importance of Poste Italiane in that context was not so much the defense of the business, but the ability to place itself at the disposal of the Italian system”.
Among the hot topics, a reference to sustainability could not be missing. Lasco was keen to recall the results achieved in this area by Poste: "We presented the first Sustainability Report in 2017, and already in 2018 and 2019 we presented the Integrated Report, recognized at the highest level by the assessment and control bodies. We entered the Dow Jones Sustainability Index in 2019, in 2020 we entered the FTSE4GOOD World and Europe, we are listed in the most important sustainability indices worldwide".
Finally, the new working paradigms: smart working, training, corporate welfare. “We put into the plan about 20 million hours of training – Lasco told TG Poste -, 97% of our resources are affected by training plans. Ours is a dynamic, transversal training that affects every colleague in every segment of our company. Our great attention to human resources led us to be included in the World Best Employers last year among the top 500 companies in the world for the quality of working life".
Just in these hours, however, some unpleasant news has arrived for the company. The Antitrust has imposed a fine of 5 million to Poste Italiane for failure to deliver registered letters: this is the maximum amount permitted by law in the event of unfair commercial practices. In particular, the Authority ascertained that "the attempt to deliver registered mail is not always carried out with the timing and certainty emphasized in advertising messages, being, moreover, frequently carried out in ways other than those prescribed by law".
According to the Antitrust Poste Italiane "sometimes it uses for convenience the deposit of the notice of storage of the registered letter in the mailbox even when it would have been possible to deliver it into the recipient's hands". To about, there are numerous complaints from consumers that have reported the failure to attempt to deliver the registered letters, even when they were certain that they had been present in their home (think, for example, of people housebound as carriers of handicap or for the health emergency during the lockdown).
She then came to this story the harsh reply of Poste, through a press release: "The contents of the Antitrust statement are unacceptable, and the reference to the serious damage to the country's justice system is disconcerting". "The hypothesis according to which the company would have implemented actions that deceive customers regarding the characteristics of the recommended product is without any foundation", wrote Poste again.
