Hera, confirmation in sight for Tommasi and Venier

The Coronavirus is messing up all the calendars of corporate meetings and, even before that, of the presentation of the list of candidates and it is the same for Hera, the first Italian multi-utility by market capitalization (4.7 billion euros). But, unlike in other cases, Hera is not discussing the final solution of the appointments: according to the guidelines recently expressed, the Syndicate Agreement which represents 46% of the share capital and brings together 111 public shareholders has in fact expressed its full appreciation for the current management and is preparing to propose its confirmation to the shareholders' meeting.

The chairman Tomaso Tommasi di Vignano, who has de facto led the Emilian multiutiliy since its inception (2002), and the managing director Stefano Venier are therefore destined to remain at the top of Hera for the next three years as well. The economic and stock market results, the collection of mergers and acquisitions aimed at constant growth, the generous dividend policy and at the same time the forward-looking investment strategy and the innovative capacity shown also in the circular economy speak in their favour. Shareholders like Hera's whole strategy of continuous development and expansion, which in the short term could see other stages in the Veneto region.

This is why the confirmation of the Tommasi-Venier tandem is now considered certain and should be sanctioned by the shareholders' meeting originally scheduled for the end of April. However, before the renewal, Tommasi and Venieri must think about the Covid-19 emergency and its effects on the Group.

This is why, in the last few days, in the midst of the Coronavirus emergency, the Hera Group has activated a COVID-19 insurance coverage policy for its employees, in the event of a diagnosed infection, bearing all the costs. The coverage provides a package of guarantees and services as an additional benefit to support all employees, at the same time contemplates a hospitalization allowanceconvalescence allowance following hospitalization in intensive care and, finally, post hospitalization assistance.

The latter provides for a series of services, including the dispatch of a general practitioner, transport by ambulance and transport from the emergency room to the home, the transfer and return from the specialist care institution, the use of a baby-sitter , accompanying minor children to school, home delivery of groceries.

This protection is added to, integrating them, the measures already adopted by the company to contain the spread of the virus.

In addition to the protection of the categories of employees most at risk and the intensification of hygiene measures, additional precautions have been introduced: from the use of smart working to the provision of all services and activities in offices, offices and plants (canteens, cleaning, additional protective provisions, etc.), in the interest of workers, customers and stakeholders in general.
