Cabel launches the first payment institution in Italy

Cabel for IP payments is the first payment institution in Italy. It was launched by Cabel, an independent network of services in Empoli which mainly caters to local banks. Cabel Pay is an innovative tool for managing payments and collections

A silent revolution is underway in payment systems that will not fail to bear fruit. Thanks above all to the new rules of the game and the strength of technologies. And sometimes innovation starts from the bottom up. It is in this context that the novelty of Cabel Pay should be placed, launched by the independent network of services for the Cabel banks of Empoli. Cabel Pay is not a credit card but an innovative tool for managing payments and collections that brings together a plurality of functions: it allows payments and withdrawals at an international level, having the characteristics of a rechargeable debit card associated with an payment; makes possible – by presenting the IBAN – all operations linked to a current account such as wire transfers, payment of MAV, RAV, F24, telephone top-ups but also the collection of salaries, pensions and credits; it is available to the MITO internet banking portal which allows you to have all card movements in real time and to operate as a real current account.

Cabel Pay takes advantage of the innovations made possible by the regulation of payment systems which require banks to no longer be the sole manager of the electronic payment system. Cabel for IP payments has thus become the first payment institution in Italy: it has 13 institutional shareholders, including cooperative credit banks, cooperative banks and branches of foreign banks in Italy
