Generali shares start well in Piazza Affari after the announcement of theagreement to take over the joint venture with PPF. About an hour after the opening, with an almost flat Ftse Mib index, the insurance company's stock gained more than one percentage point.
Meanwhile, Merrill Lynch confirmed the "buy" recommendation on the Generali stock: "We expect the market to welcome today's news - write the American Investment Bank -, which removes the strategic uncertainty on PPF and provides better visibility on Generali's ability to finance the acquisition”.
