Increases in minimums, withholdings for additional personal income tax, adjustments and refunds of the tax return of the 730 model: here's what to expect in September

News for pensions of September 2023. As with August's pensions, there will also be increases or withholdings on pensioners' allowances next month as appropriate and, for those who have not yet received them, even arrears. To find out more, it will be necessary to wait until 20 August, when the INPS will process the September pension slips. There will also be a part related to adjustments. But in the meantime, let's see what retirees can expect.

The minimum automatic courses at 600 euros

It should be remembered that September pensions are revalued due to the cut in the tax wedge which refers only to pensioners minimum pensions, brought to 600 euros. In fact, the increase in INPS minimum pensions will be 6,4%, but only for those who have reached 75 years of age.

September pension, for whom will there be the Irpef adjustment?

In detail, for all we will continue with the withheld due for the additional Irpef, but the most important appointment is the balance of the tax return with model 730/2023 which only for some pensioners will be made on the payment slip on the first bankable day of the month.

An operation - for those who have chosen INPS as a withholding agent - which could lead to an increase in the pension but also to a reduction: it all depends on whether the tax return resulted in a credit or debt in favor of the retiree. The adjustment is made directly in the slip according to the date on which the declaration was sent.

Therefore, those who sent the declaration between 21 June and 15 July, for whom the communication was made by 23 July, must expect an adjustment on the September pension. For those who have bypassed this date, the adjustment could arrive in October, at the latest in November.

The others withheld

In addition to the personal income tax, already withheld on a monthly basis, they must also be considered other deductions:

the regional and municipal surtaxes relating to 2022, deducted in 11 installments (from January to November) in the year following the one to which they refer;

the municipal surcharge on account for 2023 (from March to November);

recovery of Irpef withholding taxes relating to the year 2022 (where the end-of-year adjustment resulted in a debt exceeding 100 euros, as indicated in the Single Certification).
