Fs, Moretti: Listing on the Stock Exchange? The shareholder decides

“It is an assessment that the shareholder must make”. With these words theCEO of Ferrovie dello Stato, Mauro Moretti, responds in an interview published today in "Il Messaggero" to a question about the group's possible listing on the Stock Exchange.

"I'm four years that we have closed the Group's financial statements in positive territory – added Moretti -. In particular, Trenitalia has achieved a good industrial and economic situation, but the patrimonial balance between the many inherited debts and own capital must be completed. We must continue in the process of recovery and development undertaken ".

Moretti therefore proposes to Mario Monti's government an anti-crisis recipe to achieve economic recovery as early as the second half of 2013. According to the manager it is necessary to focus on infrastructure, transport, energy and new sectors such as the green economy with a long-term plan.

“In addition to the measures already launched on the infrastructure front, which are a good anti-cyclical driving force – explains Moretti -, I believe it is appropriate to define in detail the strategic choices for the country's development for the next 20 years. A long-term mission”.

Alongside the already strong Italian sectors "it would be useful to focus on new fields such as the green economy and ICT, essential for our future. Just as we must encourage the development of large industrial companies in strategic sectors, i.e. energy, transport, telecommunications, to compete on equal terms in the global challenge".
