Online event: presentation of the volume "Collectors and the value of art in Italy" edited by Intesa Sanpaolo

This is the third volume of the editorial series promoted by Intesa Sanpaolo Private Banking in collaboration with the Art, Culture and Historical Heritage Directorate and the Studies and Research Directorate of Intesa Sanpaolo.

The presentation of the volume, with interventions by the authors, can be followed in streaming on the dedicated page on the website Group The research aims to offer a specialized reflection on the relevance of
art market in Italy with a specific focus on some of the current trends in modern art and
most noteworthy contemporary works.
The themes addressed in the volume will also offer inspiration towards design market retracing the history of this sector, among the most brilliant art sectors in 2023 with constant growth and growing interest. An equally interesting topic from a regulatory point of view is that of works of art restricted by the State and the limits they encounter in circulation outside the national territory.

The volume is divided into five macro-chapters:

  • The international and Italian market 2023 and prospects for 2024;
  • The portrait of Italian collectors in 2023;
  • The evaluation of assets declared to be of historical-artistic interest;
  • The new market trajectories: from decorative art to collectible design;
  • The Intesa Sanpaolo collections, including new acquisitions and public exhibitions.

With this investigation into the market and value of art in Italy, Intesa Sanpaolo intends to test a survey method, obtain reliable data and analyze unpublished information regarding modern and contemporary art collecting in Italy.
