Stock exchanges, Milan and Europe in deep red: Piazza Affari starts well but then falls

Volatility remains the master on the Stock Exchange – After the collapse of Wall Street and Asia, Milan at the beginning of the session gained about 2% but resisted very little – European lists all in heavy red: Frankfurt is the worst, with over - 3% – Gold achieves the new record (1.774 dollars an ounce) – The Btp-Bund spread drops again.

On the stock exchange, surprises are always around the corner and volatility continues to dominate. After the collapse of Wall Street and the Asian Stock Exchanges, the European lists try to reverse course. Milan, shortly after the opening of Piazza Affari, gained about 2% but immediately retreated. The turning signal had seemed to come from Sydney which, by closing positively, kicked off the comeback, which however lasted a few minutes. Especially the German Stock Exchange, which pays for the activism of the ECB, is very bad. All the reasons for alarm remain and the trend of gold which has set a new record with 1.774 an ounce speaks volumes. The only positive element, after the robust interventions of the ECB, is the drop in the Btp-Bund spread which stood at around 284 basis points.
