The green which is close to 2 euros per litre, the diesel which easily reaches 1,80. Especially in the central-southern regions, where local excise duties are higher. Result? A full tank of petrol, according to the table disseminated by the Ministry of Economic Development and calculated assuming an average 45 liter tank, now costs around 35 euros more than in 2000, when the price per liter was just over 1 euro: 83 euros against 48.
Even worse for diesel: filling up now costs practically double compared to twelve years ago: almost 80 euros, against 40,05 in 2000, when a liter of diesel cost less than one euro. Growth over the years, as the table shows, has been inexorable and constant, interrupted only in 2009 (the year in which oil prices collapsed), when they went from 1,38 euro per liter to 1,21 for green and from 1,34 to 1,06 for diesel.
