Company Description

Ford Motor Company is an American automobile manufacturer. It was born in 1903 by the work of Henry Ford. It is among the largest automobile manufacturers in the world. Ford is the second largest American automaker (after General Motors) and the fifth in the world. During the twentieth century it expanded throughout the world by opening branches in Great Britain, Germany, South America, Africa and Asia.
Ford was the first company to use the assembly line and conveyor belt in industry. This phenomenon was called fordism.

Ford produces cars (in the course of its history it has produced more than 170 models) but is also active in the production of trucks, buses and tractors. It has a division that also operates financing services. Non-manufacturing operations are managed by the division Ford Motor Credit Company, which deals with the financial aspects related to the sale of the cars.
The company has approximately 186.000 employees.

Ford Motor Company was founded by Henry Ford in Dearborn, Michigan in 1903.

In the early years it only produced a few cars a day. It stands out and begins to grow with the introduction of new forms of work organization: it creates the assembly line and the conveyor belt.
