TIM launches satellite Internet service up to 100 megabits

The experimentation of the satellite internet service of TIM for reduce the digital divide in the country. The Group led by Luigi Gubitosi launches the new satellite Internet service on an experimental basis (until 30 October 2021) reserved for its fixed line customers located in areas not yet reached by the broadband and ultrabroadband network.

Thanks to the new service, customers will be able to navigate quickly up to 100 megabits per second in download by exploiting the connectivity of Eutelsat's Konnect satellite reserved for TIM exclusively for the Italian territory.

With this initiative, the Group strengthens its offer designed to overcome the digital divide in the country, bringing ultra-fast connectivity to areas not yet reached by fiber and Fixed Wireless Access (FWA). 

Furthermore, the first 3.000 customers who join the initiative will be able to test, exclusively, the new satellite service that will be commercially offered by TIM in the coming months. Customers will be given a satellite kit (free of charge), including satellite dish, external transmitter and Wi-Fi modem. As for theinstallation (free) will be carried out by a specialized technician.  

The experimentation will be active throughout almost the entire national territory and will end by next autumn, at which point customers will then be able to choose whether to join the new commercial offer.
