At the 81st Venice Film Festival everyone was waiting to see Tim Burton and Monica Bellucci, director and actress of the horror film “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” who after a day that saw them separated, joined together hand in hand dressed strictly in black in keeping with the film.
The film had its world premiere yesterday evening as the opening film of the Venice Film Festival. Its stars were out in force with Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Jenna Ortega, Willem Dafoe, Monica Bellucci, Justin Theroux and Catherine O'Hara gracing the carpet alongside director Tim Burton.
Trailer Synopsis
After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia's life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the city in the attic and the portal to the Otherworld is accidentally opened. With trouble brewing in both realms, it's only a matter of time before someone says Beetlejuice's name three times and the mischievous demon returns to wreak his own personal havoc.
Bellucci plays the role of Dolores, a soul-sucking demon in the afterlife, and while Beetlejuice haunts everyone, she haunts him. She is Beetlejuice's bride, and they had a brief, intense romance that ended very badly, with death, in fact.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will be released in Italian cinemas on September 5, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures
