Solenti Clivi: the "boutique farming" in the Filacciano area that raises purebred hens and produces high quality eggs

“Oil with skilful art squeezed From the pure fruit of the ancient olive trees, Che sing -peace! -in their silent language…”. Thus Gabriele d'Annunzio speaks of the oil produced on the hills that he, in the poem, he defines "Solent Clive”, in the poem of the same name which is part of the Alcyone poetic collection. And just about fifty kilometers from Rome, in Filacciano, within the area of the Tiber Valley, we find precisely those gentle hills sung by the Italian poet and from which the farm founded by Gianluca Mosca, former engineer with a brilliant career abroad. After the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates, Moscow has decided to return to his country and start an innovative agri-food company, which he himself defines “boutique farming”, focused on the breeding of hens and the production of organic eggs high quality.

But not only. Solenti Clivi also breeds koi carp, whose reproducers come from Japan, Maremma shepherds Abruzzo e Irish Suffolk sheep e Scottish Blackface whose main mission is to keep the land clean. There is also plenty of room for extra virgin olive oil: very rich in polyphenols and low in acidity. The company is located in land rich in olive trees, mostly of the frantoio variety (with fruity notes), leccino (bitter and spicy) and pendolino (with delicate notes).

Solenti Clivi: the company that focuses on biodiversity and sustainability

A company that considers agriculture and livestock to be the spearhead of our economy, thanks to the exceptional biodiversity of a territory and a solid tradition that have allowed unique species and varieties to be preserved for millennia. The entire company territory is made up of around 10 hectares – including 2500 olive trees – and an area of 3.000 square meters dedicated to free-range hens and chicken coops. Studied and designed to accommodate state-of-the-art systems, almost entirely powered by solar power. The use of machinery is minimized to avoid soil contamination. Grazing sheep have the task of keeping the proliferation of weeds under control so as not to damage the ecosystem and allow the dogs on the farm to develop their pastoral instinct.

To produce the best egg in Italy, hens listen to Mozart and live happily

It all stems from a single goal: to make the best egg in Italy. As? Starting from the animal. With about 20 hens of different breeds reproduced to give life to new hens with certain characteristics to obtain a unique product. There have been numerous attempts to arrive at the result: six types of different mixtures, obviously based on natural ingredients, were administered to six groups of hens and then the eggs were analyzed to evaluate cholesterol and the Omega3 and Omega6 ratio. Beyond healthy eating, the company aims at animal welfare: the hens listen Mozart (music therapy) and are free to roam around inside the facilities created to protect them from possible attacks by wild animals. Furthermore, continuous cleaning cycles are dedicated to the chicken coops which contribute significantly to guaranteeing an optimal state of health of the animals, but also the open spaces aimed at the hens and dogs are subject to constant cleaning.
