It's called “Sanpa” and it's the new sandwich created by De Santis, the iconic Milanese sandwich shop born in Corso Magenta in Milan in 1964, which also landed in Rome in the taste space of La Rinascente under the impetus of Angelo Moratti and Luca Monica in collaboration with San Patrignano. Two excellences of the community that have given life to this high quality sandwich that promises to be the first of a series: Mucchino cheese and bacon. Il Mucchino born in 2004 from milk coming from the community's breeding, a medium-aged cheese with a uniform and compact texture, with a soft consistency, produced with whole cow's milk, slightly aromatic, with a sweet taste with a slight sour tone. The bacon aged for about eight months in natural environments is dry-salted using a mixture of salt, pepper and spices and tied by hand. To enrich the flavor of the gourmet sandwich then intervenes a white truffle and black pepper cream.

A gourmet sandwich that has a long history behind it and heralds new ideas

“The collaboration with San Patrignano – says Luca Monica, CEO of De Santis – stems from a profound sharing of intentions. It is a reality that we have always known and we appreciate on the one hand the work it does for the kids and on the other we admire everything that is done within it. We share the attitude to seek only excellence and the will to produce the best. I consider De Santis an ambassador of Made in Italy and to support our vocation we choose partners, such as San Patrignano in this case, who give us the best raw materials, who continuously inspire us, allowing us to innovate and propose recipes that are always new and in line with tastes of the moment. I hope that “Sanpa” is the first of a series of new sandwiches”.

Likewise, San Patrignano, like De Santis, has always been attentive to the search for partners who can best tell the story of the community's DNA. A "natural" and inevitable encounter between two realities both animated by passion in carrying out their activities, by maximum attention to the pursuit of excellence and customer care.

"This collaboration - explains Roberto Bezzi, President of the San Patrignano agricultural cooperative - is important because it represents recognition for the work done by our young people who are committed every day to the creation of food products that aim for excellence through the excellent quality of raw materials, craftsmanship, without preservatives or additives and internal supply chain”

“Sanpa” is on paper in the De Santis shops in Milan and Rome at a cost of €12.
