April is upon us, and for all Italian pensioners the time has come to consult the pension slip available on the INPS website. This document allows you to check the net amount of your pension, any changes compared to previous months, and the tax deductions applied. For April 2025, there are several new significant that will impact the amounts. Here are the details.

When will the April 2025 pension payments arrive?

The date to mark on the calendar is April 1, 2025. On this date, Italian pensioners will receive their pension payment. For those who have chosen to have their pension credited to a postal or bank account, including postal savings books and Postepay Evolution cards, the payment will be made directly to the account. Pensioners who collect their pension in cash, however, will have to go to the post office following the calendar established by Poste Italiane, which provides for collection based on alphabetical order. It is important to remember that, for those who receive a pension of more than 1.000 euros, the credit will no longer be possible in cash, but it will be necessary to have a current account to receive the amount.

News and contents of the April 2025 pay slip

With regard to April 2025 pay slip news, the main one concerns the end of Irpef adjustments 2024. Many pensioners will therefore see a more stable net income than in previous months, as there will no longer be additional deductions due to tax recalculations. However, the introduction of the additional Regional and municipal Irpef, temporarily suspended, will result in a reduction in the net amount of the pension, as these deductions will return to full force until November.

For seniors with board minima residents in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, April pension includes increases up to € 1.000, thanks to the approval of the Provincial Council and the City Council. About 17 thousand pensioners will benefit from this measure, which aims to guarantee integration at least until 2027.

For pensioners who benefit from social increases, there is a little good news: a extraordinary increase of 8 euros per month, intended for pensioners with a minimum pension, for invalid total and over 70s. Furthermore, for those who are entitled to the social increase, the April pay slip also includes backlog, for a total of approximately 32 euros, which are added to the monthly amount.

Single Certification 2025 and other useful documents

In April 2025, not only the pension will arrive, but also the Single Certification (CU) 2025, which pensioners can download directly from the INPS portal, essential for the declaration of income.

Also, for those who haven't done so yet, it is possible download the ObisM too, the pension certificate which contains all the essential information such as the pensioner's personal data and information on the type of pension.

Finally, there is a small extension in sending the Red model, the declaration of income situation. INPS has not yet communicated an official date for the deadline, so it is a good idea to keep up to date on the INPS portal.

Verification for pensioners abroad

An new important concerns the verification of existence in life for pensioners residing abroadThe verification process is divided into two phases:

First phase: From March to July 2025, pensioners living in America, Asia, Scandinavia, the Far East, Eastern Europe and neighboring countries will need to provide proof of life. Applications will be sent by Citibank NA starting March 20, 2025 and must be returned by July 15, 2025.
Second phase: from September 2025 to January 2026, the verification will be extended to pensioners residing in Europe, Africa and Oceania, with certifications to be sent by 15 January 2026.
