There is more and more chaos in the Lombardy region, after the arrest of the PDL councilor yesterday Dominic Zambetti e the shock decision of the Northern League to resign unitedly from the Junta. The Carroccio's decision aroused the angry reaction of the governor Roberto Formigoni, increasingly in the eye of the storm: "If the Lega supporters want dialogue they must withdraw their resignations - Formigoni said in the telephone interview with Maurizio Belpietro -, let them decide whether they want to part of the alliance in Lombardy, Veneto and Piedmont. Otherwise we will go to elections with a council led by Formigoni and completely new councilors and obviously all this will also have consequences in Veneto and Piedmont, because the three juntas are daughters of the same political agreement”.
In the morning the leader of the Milanese League, Matteo Salvini, he had thus intervened on Tgcom24: “The zeroing of the junta seems to me the minimum and I say it reluctantly. Whether or not Formigoni should take a step back is up to him to decide. However, if Formigoni thinks that he is being spited and that, if he falls, the League also falls in Veneto and Piedmont, he is wrong. The League is not afraid of anything. If this is the case, we will go back to voting and the League will get double the votes”. Then, via Facebook, the secretary of the League in Lombardy reiterates: "Reset everything and start again, with few men and few concrete projects until the elections".
Roberto Formigoni was given a hand by the intervention of the secretary of the PDL, Angelino Alfano, on the microphones of Radio Anch'io. “It is not a threat but a political pact. In Veneto we did not re-nominate the outgoing and successful Galan to respect an agreement with the Northern League. But let's work so that Lombardy doesn't fall. We believe that Formigoni must make a strong, very strong gesture. We truly believe that President Formigoni will say and do such strong things to get the Lombardy Region back on track. It is something more than a distancing from Zambetti. I think he has to reset everything and have to start over. We need to give a signal of censorship“. “I've already had the opportunity to speak with Formigoni – continues Alfano -. Maroni and I, as ministers, have done a lot to counter the 'Ndrangheta. Meanwhile, however, the president of the Lombardy Region has made it known that he has withdrew the delegations of the councilors of the Northern League, taking charge of them ad interim. Therefore, following the announcement of the resignations of the Northern League representatives of the Pirellone, the powers were withdrawn from the councilors: Andrea Gibelli (Industry and deputy governor), Daniele Belotti (Territory), Giulio De Capitani (Agriculture) and Luciana Ruffinelli (Sport and young ).
As for the Zambetti case, "there are also responsibilities on the part of the leaders of the PDL who had sworn on him", comments Formigoni cryptically. "The accusation is of absolute gravity, and it is completely unacceptable - he continues - either it is an incredible blunder by the judiciary, but it seems to me absolutely not, or Zambetti is a perjurer who betrayed the trust of all of us.
