Starting from January 1 2026 la Isee threshold to access the social bonuses su light, gas, water e waste increases. Arera has in fact updated the minimum value required to automatically obtain discounts on the bill, bringing it from 9.530 euro to 9.796 euroThis is a small increase, but it slightly broadens the number of families eligible for the benefits without having to submit additional requests.
The update has been approved with the resolution 2/2026/R/com, published on the Arera website, and follows the indications of the decree of the Minister of Economic Development of 29 December 2016, which adjusts the threshold based on inflation trends over the last three years.
Electricity, gas, water, and waste reduction bonuses: automatic discounts on bills with the new ISEE threshold.
For electricity and gas, the social bonus translates into an automatic reduction in the cost of the bill: in the case ofelectricity discount is 30% of the average user's expenditure, calculated before taxes, while for the natural gas la reduction corresponds to 15% of expenditure, net of taxes.
For integrated water service (aqueduct, sewerage and purification), the bonus guarantees a discount equivalent to 50 litres per inhabitant per day. On the front of the waste, instead, the relief provides for a 25% reduction on the Tari or on the corresponding fee due, designed to reduce the cost of the service for families with low ISEE.

To access the social bonuses it is sufficient to present the Single Substitute Declaration (Dsu) to INPS and get the certification IseeIf the ISEE value is less than 9.796 euros, or less than 20 thousand euros for families with at least four dependent children, the discounts are automatically applied to your billThere's no need to submit applications to electricity, gas, water, or waste suppliers: the benefit is automatically granted once the financial requirements are met.
