The multi-utility is first in Italy for the protection of diversity and inclusion according to the Thomson Reuters "Diversity and Inclusion Index" - The company has also been admitted to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation's CE100 international program for companies that stand out in the transition towards a circular economy

chairedThe Hera group is the best company in Italy and the 14th in the world for investments that take into account the protection of diversity and inclusion. The result was decreed by the 2017 edition of the Thomson Reuters "Diversity and Inclusion Index", which examined a sample of over 6 listed companies globally.

The Emilian multiutility, chaired by Tomaso Tommasi di Vignano, was, with a score of 77,25, the second in the world in the utility sector, improving by almost six points on the 2016 performance (71,5), compared to which it also climbed 46 positions in the global ranking.

The "Diversity and Inclusion Index" is an ethical index, conceived and created by the international financial information giant Thomson Reuters, which analyzes the performance of companies on the basis of multiple factors, attributable to four areas: diversity, inclusion, development of people and disputes related to media exposure.

Hera has also been admitted to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation's CE100 international programme, which involves companies capable of standing out for their commitment to the transition towards a circular economy. The multi-utility is the second Italian company to complete the process of entering the program which includes, in addition to large groups concentrated mostly in Europe, the United States and South America, also institutions, universities, small and medium-sized enterprises, with the aim of promoting knowledge topics related to the circular economy, the exchange of experiences, the launch of partnership projects and collaborations in the field of research and development.

The initial contacts between Hera and the Foundation, the first and most active in the world in this sector, developed on the occasion of Ellen MacArthur's participation in the conference organized in Bologna last June on circular economy issues. Indeed, the event allowed MacArthur to get to know the reality, policies, initiatives, results and best practices of the Group and to have an overall view.
