Greece: buyback deadline postponed until tomorrow, target of 30 billion is close

The Greek Public Debt Agency has announced that the deadline has been postponed to 13pm tomorrow – According to the Greek press, the government of Antonis Samaras has so far managed to reach around 27 billion.

The Greek government has postponed the deadline to 13 tomorrow (Italian time). the first phase of the buyback, the program to repurchase its government bonds at a discounted price compared to the nominal value. This was announced by the Greek Public Debt Agency (Pdma) in a statement. 

According to the Greek press, the government of Antonis Samaras has so far managed to reach around 27 billion euros of public securities. In all, Greece aims to raise around 30 billion euros

The operation – which was initially supposed to close last Friday – falls within the conditions agreed by Athens with the Troika (EU-ECB-IMF) in exchange for the allocation of new aid for a total of 44 billion euros.
