Disappointing news from Germany. German investor confidence slipped in January, following a seven-year high reached last month. The index elaborated by the Zew economic institute dropped by 0,3 points, settling at 61,7. The figure is lower than the estimates of analysts, who had forecast an increase of around 64,0 points.
Last week the Federal Statistical Office had announced lower than expected GDP growth in 2013 (0,4 against 0,5%) and it is probable that many expect a negative knock-on effect on growth dynamics in the first quarter of this year.
