The future of electricity bills after the assignment of gradual protections

These assignments should guarantee customers of gradual protections a lower price than the greater protection, with a average savings per year of approximately 80 euros gross. Although discount offers vary by region, it is roughly estimated that some customers could benefit from a discount of up to 7 euros per month on their bills.

However, it is important to note that the number of customers assigned may change over time. For three years, from July 2024 to July 2027, non-vulnerable customers will be able to obtain supplies from the winner of the relevant lot at the price set at the auction, or decide to move to the free market at any time. Therefore, the calculation of the final discount on bills will only be established at the end of June. Furthermore, utilities that have lost margins to offer discounts should try to recoup the profit with competitive offers on the open market.
