Petrol, the war of discounts continues: after Eni, Esso and Q8, then also Shell and TotalErg

Let's get ready for a weekend in line at the gas station. A real discount war is coming between the companies, all determined to go crazy on the weekend. Seeing a less astronomical price on the pump display will appeal to many Italians and, after the super promotion launched by Eni as a forerunner, apparently no one wants to be left behind.

Last week only Esso and Q8 had taken the field with even higher discounts but on a more limited number of lifts. They are also leaving Shell and TotalErg: the second also in opening hours (with a cut of up to a maximum of -15 cents) and above all in the areas where you compete with Eni. Insistent voices also for tamoil. Only IP would be missing from the appeal.

Meanwhile, this morning the national weighted averages of prices between the different companies in served mode settled at 1,795 euro/litre for petrol (-0,6 cents) and at 1,688 euro/litre for diesel (-0,6 cents). Sharp drop for Eni's LPG to 0,749 euro/litre (-4 cents), while methane remained unchanged at 0,964 euro/kg.

According to the usual survey of the Staffetta Quotidiana, this morning they touched the Esso, Q8, Shell, Tamoil and TotalErg price lists with discounts on both petrol and diesel between 1 and 2 cents. As in the weekend discount campaigns, Esso and Q8 seem the best equipped to follow Eni in the race to lower prices, managing to closely follow the market leader.
