Banks, Abi: Rottigni (Intesa Sanpaolo) new general manager. Patuelli reconfirmed: it will be his sixth mandate

A renewal that passes above all through the profile of the new general director. The name chosen in the end is that of Marco Elio Rottigni: it will be him, man of Intesa Sanpaolo, the next general manager ofAbi, the Italian Banking Association, replacing John Sabatini, who left office on May 8th. On the eve of the Final Considerations of governor of Bank of Italy, Fabio Panetta (for him, Friday 31 May, the main debut at Palazzo Koch), the ABI executive committee chaired by Antonio Patuelli designated him in the position.

Rottigni (in the photo, ed) comes, in fact, from the group Intesa Sanpaolo - driven by Charles Messina – where he was head of the foreign banking division. Furthermore, the ABI executive committee "unanimously" proposed to the association's council the reconfirmation of Patuelli as president of the Confindustria of banks. Patuelli has been in office since January 2013, when he replaced Giuseppe Mussari.

Patuelli's reconfirmation (this is his sixth mandate) comes after one phase of uncertainty on the leadership of the ABI also for the observations on the role of the association made by the managing director of Intesa Sanpaolo, Messina, present today, for the first time, at the executive meeting in Palazzo Altieri.
