The trend does not seem to change unemployment average ofeuro area, which continues to grow, rising in October to 10,3%, a new record since the launch of the single currency. In September, it had already increased to 10,2%, from 10,1% in August.
Specifically, this new figure corresponds to 126 more unemployed than in the previous month.
We therefore arrive at a total of about 16 million and 294 thousand unemployed throughout the euro area.
Taking into consideration the entire European Union, the rate increased by one decimal point to 9,8%, 130 more unemployed than the previous month. Again according to Eurostat data, average inflation is stable at 3% on an annual basis, however a figure relating to a preliminary estimate for the month of November.
