UniCredit Foundation he almost donated 2,5 million euro to support projects aimed at combating early school leaving and encourage young people to pursue university degrees across Europe.
Donations in detail
The donation is divided into three areas, in line with the Foundation's new focus on youth and education.
1 million euro is intended for Call for Education, an initiative launched by the Foundation at Group level to finance projects to combat educational poverty carried out by non-profit organizations in Italy, Bulgaria and Romania, with particular attention to combating early school leaving, acquiring adequate skills for the achievement of studies university and for entry into the labor market, for lower and upper secondary school students (age group 11-19).
225.000 € have been earmarked for two research projects on education: "Addressing Inequalities in High-School Track Choice in Italy" two-year initiative in collaboration with Harvard University and Bocconi and "The Effects of Attending a Higher Value-added High School in Romania" lasting 1 year, carried out in collaboration with Columbia University and the Romanian Ministry of Education
1.225.000 € were intended for theawarding of scholarships to European university students and researchers. Based on talent and merit, these fellowships are designed to support doctoral studies abroad and encourage the return of brainpower in all geographical areas of UniCredit.

UniCredit Foundation, in the last 10 years, has disbursed approximately 22,5 million euros of funds for fund over 300 scholarships and research grants to support nearly 1.200 young students and researchers.
