The Regional Train continues to innovate and promote sustainability. More and more people are choosing to travel using digital tickets, a solution that combines convenience and respect for the environment. Starting tomorrow, Saturday October 19, the Regional takes a further step forward, offering passengers the possibility of purchasing digital tickets directly at the ticket offices, an option that until now was only available online.
This innovation aims to make travel even simpler and more sustainable, allowing travellers to reduce theuse of paper without sacrificing convenience. By opting for the digital ticket, you can receive all the necessary information directly on your device, saving resources and contributing to environmental protection.
The Regional Government, which has been committed to digitalisation for a long time, is seeing the adoption of digital purchasing channels grow, with over 40% of travellers who now prefer this method. Digital tickets purchased at the ticket office will maintain the same features as those online: ease of use and automatic validation. The latter is an innovation recently introduced starting from the end of September, with which the digital ticket is automatically validated at the train's departure time, eliminating the need for manual validation.
Even the paper ticket, while remaining available, is renewed with a view to sustainability. The Regional has planned a makeover which will make it more compact, with an estimated saving of 121.800 square meters of paper per year. A reduction in environmental impact that, although small, represents a significant contribution towards a greener future.
This new offer, which combines innovation and sustainability, marks a further milestone for the Regionale, demonstrating how every gesture, even that of choosing a digital ticket, can make a difference for the environment.
