Torino Nuova Economia, first positive balance sheet: 200 thousand euros of profits in 2012

The first positive balance sheet of TNE-Torino-Nuova Economia, the company that owns the disused industrial areas of Mirafiori, acquired by the Municipality of Turin, the Province of Turin and the Piedmont Region, was approved today. The TNE Shareholders' Meeting convened by the President Stefano Tizzani and the Chief Executive Officer Davide Canavesio approved the 2012 financial year with +199.845 euros, for the first time since the establishment of the company in 2005: from a loss of about 2,7 million euro recorded in 2011 thus passing to a profit. “The main fact” underlined the CEO Canavesio “is that the company, after a few years of uncertainty and disputes which have severely limited its action, has finally restarted. TNE is today one of the main players in restarting the automotive sector, which is in the DNA of our territory. Not only by revitalizing the local related industries, but also by making the area a pole of attraction for particularly innovative international companies”.

There are two items in particular that led to the positive closure: the formalization of the settlement agreement with FIAT, which produced the greatest valorisation of the areas involved, allowing to restart with the procedures for the establishment of automotive and mobility companies sustainable, and the reduction of operating management costs, with savings such as to evaluate new medium-term commitments. "Strengthened by these results" confirmed Stefano Tizzani, president of TNE "we are confident that in 2013 and in the following years it will be possible to operate with relative serenity to complete what have been the targets of Torino Nuova Economia from the outset: industrial reconversion , advanced training and research, valorisation understood as an action that gives added value in the automotive and sustainable mobility sector".

Among the activities launched in 2013, the procedure for the assignment to private entities of a part of Zone B, the lot of the former Fiat Style Center, with the tender published in March: the assignment is expected in the next few weeks.

Today's meeting was attended by the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Turin Tom De Alessandri, the Councilor of the Piedmont Region Claudia Porchietto, the Councilor of the Province of Turin Ida Vana, the representatives of Finpiemonte Partecipazioni and FIAT and the representatives of the Board of Directors and the Board of Statutory Auditors.
