Saint Lawrence, leader in the luxury yachting sector with the production of yachts and superyachts, acquired 49% of sea ​​energy, company that deals with the design, production and installation of naval electrical and electronic systems for an equivalent of almost 2,7 million euro.
A press release from Sanlorenzo says it, explaining that “the operation has a strategic importance for Sanlorenzo, which continues in the process of verticalising its strategic suppliers. Furthermore, the expertise and experience gained by Sea Energy will make it possible to make available to Sanlorenzo a wealth of highly specialized and excellent know-how, oriented towards the development of projects pay attention to sustainability”. The stock in Piazza Affari is quoted this morning at 39,45 euros, down by 0,50% in an overall market that gains 0,41%.

The shipyard's path towards sustainability continues

The sustainability sector has been at the center of Sanlorenzo's business, so much so that it was able to obtain recognition as the first player in the world signed with the “Sustainability Excellence Award 2022”, delivered to Dusserdorf in January. “Despite it yachting affects only 0,22% of the total GHG emissions of the entire shipping sector, (according to the International Maritime Organization, 2020)" they tell Sanlorenzo, "the introduction of innovations and technologies to reduce the environmental impact of yacht is hiring a an increasingly central role in the activity plan of the Research and Development department of the Sanlorenzo Group”.

In the last few years, "Sea energy has developed significant experience in the field of electric and hybrid propulsion” said the CEO of Sanlorenzo, Massimo Perotti, “this know-how makes this operation fully consistent with our Road to 2030 vision for the development of innovative and sustainable technologies capable to revolutionize yachting”.

Sanlorenzo plans to launch early next year 50m yacht, the 50Steel, whose on-board services (which normally make up around 85% of the consumption of a boat of this kind) will be powered by a very low environmental impactthanks to innovative technologies.
Saint Lawrence closed 2022 with a group net result of 74,2 million euros, up 45,4% compared to 2021, with a margin on net revenues deriving from the sale of new yachts of 10,0%.
