The initiative offers a new digital and inclusive experience dedicated to one of the most evocative and historically rich hills of Rome: the Celio. A central, but often forgotten, neighborhood that is back in the spotlight today thanks to the synergy between scientific research, technological innovation and accessible interactive narratives. The goal of the initiative is to make available to a broad and diverse public a very rich historical and archaeological heritage, often difficult to decipher or even invisible in the contemporary urban fabric.
The long work of academic research and production of sector sheets is now available in a simplified version, usable and understandable by the general public: twenty centuries of history; 5 sites 14 points of interest, more than 5000 archaeological data sheets, 6 digital tools and GIS are the numbers that characterize this project. Thanks to the use of advanced technologies such as Geographic Information Systems, artificial intelligence, virtual tours, StoryMaps and personalized audio guides, the digital archaeological walk allows you to explore 5 main stages along the Clivo di Scauro, for a total of 14 historical and archaeological points of interest.
Each stage offers the visitor narrative content, thematic insights, historical images and digital reconstructions, proposing modular experiences suitable for both the general public and specialists in the sector. The entire project is designed to be enjoyed on site and remotely, from the web or mobile with Web Apps, StoryMaps, Virtual tours, which accompany the visit and finally through an interactive totem installed at the Roman Houses of Celio for an on-site exploration of the contents.

The opening day of Wednesday 9 July begins at 10.30 in Piazza dei Santi Giovanni e Paolo with the meeting reserved for the press and cultural operators. After a brief demonstration of the digital tool and the extraordinary opening of the garden of the Passionist Fathers – overlooking the substructures of the Temple of Claudius – a guided tour of the Roman Houses of Celio is scheduled, where it will be possible to explore the digital contents and visit the exhibition “Patina Memoriae” by the sculptor Alessio Deli.
Starting at 17.30:XNUMX pm, in the evocative setting of the Casina del Salvi, the official presentation will be held with speeches by Ilaria Manzini, scientific director of the Changes Foundation; Professor Paolo Carafa, scientific referent of the project; Elisabetta Bruno, Heritage manager for CoopCulture; and Giovanna Barni, CoopCulture Innovation Councilor who will conclude the meeting. The project represents the result of a complex work of research, mapping, digitalization and storytelling - between science, technology and community - conducted by CoopCulture in collaboration with Heritage Srl, gisAction by TeamDev and MemorAIz, under the scientific direction of Professor Paolo Carafa, full professor of Classical Archaeology at Sapienza University of Rome.
