More than 10% of seats offered on Trenitalia regional trains (FS Italiane Group), approx 300 buses ready to integrate the regional offer, over 70 extraordinary assistance centers and spaces for free swabs for the population in the main stations. Furthermore, in the coming days, the High Speed ​​and medium and long-distance offer will be increased to meet the expected increase in transport demand. These are the main actions taken by the FS Italiane Group at the request of the Minister of Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility Enrico Giovannini in view of the reopening scheduled for Monday 26 April. All actions have the aim of increasing the safety of people who will travel for work and study reasons. The activities of the cleaner traveling on board during the train journey will also be enhanced.

The offer of regional trains, explains a note, counts 6.900 trips a day for approximately 2,1 million seats offered, already calculated according to the current capacity at 50%. The enhancement of Trenitalia's offer was defined together with the individual Regions, Clients of the service, and the Prefectures through an analysis of movements in the commuter bands also on the basis of data from the last few weeks and the first months of the school year such as September and October 2020. Thanks to the agreement between the FS Italiane Group and the Italian Red Cross, in the meantime, gazebos are active in Rome Termini and Milan Central Station to carry out free swabs. The gazebos in the stations of Genoa, Turin, Bologna, Florence, Venice, Naples, Bari, Reggio Calabria, Palermo and Cagliari are expected to open by 10 May.
