Heavy thunderstorms across southern Italy causing flooding in parts of Puglia, Sardinia and Sicily. The high pressure field in the Mediterranean will instead keep the weather more stable in the rest of Italy except for the ridge and the Alpine belt.
Despite the rain, however, the sultry heat does not give respite from north to south, but for the weekend meteorologists are expecting a sharp drop in temperatures due to an intense perturbation from the north.
In detail, for Friday rains and some thunderstorms will hit the Tyrrhenian Sea and Sicily again, to then develop, in the evening, also in the Alps and in the Valpadana.
Starting from Saturday, even intense thunderstorms with hail could affect the North, Tuscany, Marche and Umbria. A real storm could even hit the areas. Some downpours also in the South. Severe bad weather also expected for Sunday with temperatures dropping sharply, even by 15°C compared to the past few days, and snow that could descend on the Alps above 1800 metres.
