Maxxi, cooking and astrophysics: "The taste of the universe"

On 27 March at 19 pm, a semi-serious showcooking with three protagonists: the starred chef Cristina Bowerman, the President of the National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN) Fernando Ferroni and the actor Neri Marcorè. New meetings this week. The museum remains open at Easter and Easter Monday.

At the Maxxi in Rome, great cuisine meets astrophysics. Today, Tuesday 27 March, at 19:00goes on stage The taste of the Universe. Cosmic history in three courses. The meeting marks the start of a series of initiatives which will keep the National Museum of XXI Century Arts open also on the days of Easter and Easter Monday.

“Il gusto dell'Universo” is a semi-serious show cooking with three protagonists: the starred chef Cristina Bowerman, the president of the National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN) Fernando Ferroni and the actor Blacks Marcorè (MAXXI Auditorium, Admission 15 euros, for card holders myMAXXI  12 euros).

During the evening – between dialogues on gravitational waves and relativity, stories about the Universe, films, images and animations – the public will be able to observe live the preparation of 3 “star dishes”, inspired by three of the main themes of contemporary physics: dark matter, spacetime and the Big Bang theory. The event will end at the bookshop-cafeteria Typo with a tasting of the prepared dishes.

The Taste of the Universe is created on the occasion of the exhibition GRAVITY. Imagine the Universe after Einstein born from the collaboration between MAXXI National Museum of XNUMXst Century Arts, ASI Italian Space Agency e INFN National Institute of Nuclear Physics (until 6 May 2018).

In the following days, other initiatives are planned, among which we point out Thursday 29 March at 12.00:MOVING EARTH. Three authors for a photographic commission on the Marche landscape. Also on Thursday but at 18pm: THE NECESSARY SONGWRITER, opens a new cycle of appointments dedicated to Italian songwriting and its links with art. In the first we talk about the 60s with Edoardo Vianello in the meeting entitled Flying… without end. Free entry.
