Businesses: 255 thousand contracts in December, here are the most requested jobs

They are about 255 thousand the contracts that Italian companies with employees expect to activate in the month of December. Of these, about a third are intended for professionals in the catering sector (over 46 thousand requests from employees) e of sales (about 30 thousand), more linked to the seasonality of the period, which is joined by the demand for unqualified personnel in cleaning services, motor vehicle drivers, market relationship technicians.

This is what emerges from the monthly Bulletin of Excelsior information system, realized by Unioncamere in collaboration with ANPAL, based on forecasted revenues of enterprises with employees in industry and services between December 2017 and February 2018.

Of the total revenue planned for the month, 22% still have complexities (although down slightly from the previous month), especially in IT and communications services sector (41%), in the wood and furniture industries (38%), in the mining and non-metallic mineral processing industries (37%) and in the engineering and electronic industries (35%).

In particular, the professions that are difficult to find include specialists in mathematics, information technology, chemistry, physics and natural sciences (58%), the IT, telematics and communications technicians (49%), technicians in the engineering field (42%), metal carpentry smelters, welders and fitters (46%), craftsmen and specialized workers involved in finishing constructions (44%) and artisan mechanics who repair and maintain stationary and mobile machines (40%).

Even more accentuated appears the mismatch for professions intended for young people under the age of 29: in fact, the demands of businesses intended for young people are over 89 thousand (35% of the total), but the difficulty of finding concerns almost 3 figures out of 10 (29%). Among the professions most difficult to find among young people stand out the specialists in computer science, physics and chemistry (65%), IT, engineering and production technicians (48%) and workers in metalworking and electronics (48%).

As regards the fields of study, in the month of December there are approx 31 thousand contractual offers for graduates, 86 for graduates, while 83 are those requiring a professional qualification or diploma.

The information disclosed in this press release is based on a historical series modeling of the data deriving from administrative sources on employment (EMENS – INPS), connected to the Chamber of Commerce register of companies and suitably integrated with the sample data acquired through the Excelsior monthly survey. In particular, the survey relating to the hiring forecasts for the month of December 2017 was conducted by interviewing a sample of 106.000 companies with employees in the industrial and service sectors.
