The Fondo Italiano di Investimento enters the capital of Labomar

The Fondo Italiano di Investimento has launched a stake in the share capital of Labomar Srl, a company specialized in the production of food supplements, divided into various tranches for a total value of 5,5 million euros

The FII has announced a new investment worth a total of 5,5 million euros divided into various tranches for the purchase of a minority stake in the share capital of Labomar Srl, a company in the province of Treviso specialized in research and development and in the production of food supplements, health and dietetic products.

Labomar was founded in 199 by a pharmacist, Walter Bertin who still holds the majority share of the capital, since 2004 the current technical director Carmen Frare has also entered the capital; employs a total of 110 employees producing a turnover of 20 million euros.

One of Labomar's strengths is the research and development sector, especially in relation to the development of "new delivery systems" aimed at improving the effectiveness of the products. The R&D function accounts for about 7% of turnover, a percentage definitely above the average for Italian companies.

The Fund will intervene to allow a better integration of the supply chain for the control of raw materials, to support the increase in production capacity and commercial internationalization and finally to further increase the research and development function by promoting collaborations with universities of primary importance
