Is the Sultan of Brunei interested in Villa Certosa?
Hassanal Bolkiah, 77 years old, Sultan of Brunei, since 1967 at the helm of the small Islamic-style absolute monarchy on the island of Borneo, would have personally gone, according to rumors, confirmed by multiple sources, to visit Villa Certosa, the splendid property in Sardinia of the Berlusconi family. He certainly isn't the only one to be attracted to what is considered the richest real estate deal ever in Italy: expressions of interest would also have come from some other Asian and European families. But, of course, he is surprised by the fact that the sultan arrived in Porto Rotondo personally, instead of intermediaries. For Fininvest this is the main real estate asset: if the villa were sold, the parent company could cash in liquidity estimated between 300 and 500 million.
