The new edition, with data as of June 30, 2025, becomes a reference point for understanding how FiberCop, the company that manages Italy's most extensive and widespread digital infrastructure, is contributing to the country's digital development, thanks to an increasingly modern and reliable network.
The FiberCop network infrastructure counts approximately 27 million kilometers of fiber approximately 10.500 power plants and 160.000 distribution cabinets have been installed throughout the country – over 670 times the circumference of the Earth.
Broadband, ultra-broadband, FTTH coverage
As of June 2025, the total active lines with access to the FiberCop network will be over 14 million, of which 13 million are broadband and 11,5 million are ultra-broadband, with an ultra-fast connection of up to 1 Gbps. At a regional level, leads Lombardy with 2,6 million active lines, followed by Lazio (1,6 million) and Campania (1,3 million). As of June 30, 2025, FiberCop's FTTx (FTTH or FTTC) network reaches 6.100 municipalities, covering approximately 28,4 million housing units, equal to almost 91% of the national total. FTTH coverage reaches over 2.800 municipalities, for a total of over 13,2 million housing units, equal to more than 42% of the total. The provinces with the highest FTTH coverage are Trieste (74%), Pescara (71%), and Rome (67%).

Data traffic: focus on the Regions
In the first six months of 2025, total data traffic on FiberCop's fixed network amounted to 19,4 billion Gigabytes. Looking at the ranking of average monthly data traffic by province, it is confirmed that 8 of the top 10 provinces are located in central-southern Italy of the country (Palermo leads the way with over 340 GB/month). The regions with the highest average data traffic consumption per active line are Campania, Lazio, and Sicily, all exceeding 300 GB per month. At the other end of the spectrum are Liguria and Valle d'Aosta, which exceed 200 GB per month.
