Ferrari, here is the new 458 Spider: from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3,4 seconds. The cost? 226 thousand euros

After the official presentation of the Ferrari Spider 458 at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Maranello company par excellence released the price of the new two-seater 8-cylinder engine with rear-mid engine and, for the first time, equipped with an electronically folding rigid aluminum roof: 226.800 €. A price that is certainly not within everyone's reach, but which will certainly appeal to all collectors around the globe who certainly won't be able to say no to such aerodynamic efficiency.

The new Cavallino sports car was conceived before the 458 Italia and the genesis of the roof dates back to 2005, when the first solutions linked to a lamellar opening with a system divided into 3 parts were studied. The 458 Spider weighs just 50 kilos more than the coupé when the differential between the 430 Coupè and Spider amounts to 70 kilos. The engine-propulsion group remains unchanged, composed of the 8 V4.5 engine with direct injection from 4499 cm³ and 570 HP winner of the Engine of the Year 2011 award, and from seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, derived directly from Formula 1.

This combination allows the car acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3,4 seconds, with a top speed of 320 km/h. Various calibrations, such as the accelerator map, the suspension damping calibration and even the sound of the engine itself have been specifically designed to guarantee the occupants full involvement in sporty driving.
