"Flying over Bisentina Island. Disclose by Nature” is the title of the meeting dedicated to the Bisentina Island which ecosystem unique for the growth of centuries-old plants and an important stop along the migratory routes.

The Bisentina island
The Bisentina Island, pearl of Lake Bolsena, is renowned for the mildness of its climate and for the extraordinary quantity and particularity of the tree and animal species it hosts. Uninhabited for some time, it retains traces of human activity that has managed to preserve its environmental characteristics, making it a unique ecosystem for the growth of centuries-old plants and the development of a rich avifauna. Francesco Barberini, "aspiring" ornithologist and young Standard Bearer of the Republic, visited the island periodically over the course of an entire year to detect and census the great variety of birds present. From this monitoring he was able to observe how this place, an important stop along the migratory routes, is rich in species with different habits and behaviour, from the small cormorants to the imposing cormorants. The story of this adventure is a guide enriched by the tables of Marco Preziosi, a well-known naturalistic illustrator, which portray the twelve main species of vultures that populate the island.
Francesco Barberini, a seventeen-year-old "aspiring" ornithologist, has already received many national and international awards for his scientific dissemination work. In 2018 he received the honorary certificate of Standard Bearer of the Republic from the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella for scientific and informative merits. He has already published with Salani Editore What happened to the dinosaurs? e The dinosaurs that fly among us. He collaborates with newspapers and magazines, is a guest on radio and television programs and holds conferences in schools, museums and parks.
Marco Preziosi, illustrator and naturalist artist, has created scientific and popular illustrations for numerous publications and for the most important bodies active in communication, conservation and land management. He has exhibited in various exhibitions in Italy and abroad and holds naturalistic drawing courses. He has been collaborating with Francesco Barberini for some time.
