DELLA VALLE INFIAMMA RCS (+22,7%)

MURDOCH IMITATE HIM ON LA7 SCREENS

Troubled waters in Piazza Affari for Italian publishing. First battlefield, as usual, Rcs Media gGroup. The share of the group that controls Corriere della Srra has rallied since the start of the session with a gain of almost 22,7% to 1,57 euros and immediately ended up in a volatility auction after the shareholder Diego Della Valle, a guest last night at Infedele on La7, he said he grew up a lot "in compliance with the rules".

The owner of Tod's brought his stake in RCS between 8% and 9% of the capital from the previous 5,5%. Approximately 3% would have been raked up in Piazza Affari by Della Valle until about ten days ago, when the RCS stock market rally ended. The businessman from the Marches was able to blend in with the purchases of traders who "deceived" the same Consob inspectors who had not recognized the existence of strong hands. On the other hand, Della Valle has remained below the relevant threshold of 10% when exceeded, which triggers the obligation to notify Consob. Above 10% there are currently only Mediobanca, Giuseppe Rotelli and Fiat.

Della Valle's blitz offers a key to understanding Mr. Tod's thrust against Fiat. The real target is not Sergio Marchionne ("if he wants, he can make a credible plan for Fiat in Italy" he said during the broadcast) but the Elkann family that "he must get back to doing what he knows how to do as soon as possible: boat trips, golf matches and so on". Moreover, it should not be forgotten that Della Valle had left the pact that controls the publishing group last spring, in controversy with the choices of the shareholders led by Mediobanca and Fiat on the renewal of the board of directors and on the appointment of a new managing director with entry into the board of a large group of independent directors and Pietro Scott Jovane in place of Antonello Perricone. At the time, the entrepreneur had declared that he wanted to have his hands free to vary his stake. And he did so much. Yesterday during Infedele on La7 he said: "My will is to grow, everyone knows it, we've always said it", in the shareholding structure, he added, "we have grown a lot in compliance with the rules".

From August 24, the day the bull run starts, the share gained 154% reaching a maximum of 2,57 euro on 2 September (+361%).

No less exciting is the race to conquer Ti Media. The title jumped up in the early stages of the session and goes into a volatility auction after having recorded an increase of 11,58%. The spotlights on the Stock Exchange remain focused on the stock of the company that controls La7 thanks, today, to the interest of Rupert Murdoch's group which follows that of Mediaset (which today will decide whether to proceed with a non-binding offer) and other competitors: 3 Italia (interested in frequencies but not only), Clessidra , John Malone's Discovery Channel and Urbano Cairo. Everyone chasing the most valuable asset (multiplexes, or digital frequencies) but also La7, a TV network that has never exceeded the ceiling of 5% of audience but which threatens to upset the balance of a sector halfway through, between the crisis in advertising sales, digital competition and technological innovations.
