With 133 votes in favor and 99 against, this morning the Senate Chamber approved the housing decree, which contains the furniture bonus and the funds to the Municipality of Milan for Expo 2015. Among the changes made by the Chamber of Palazzo Madama there is the rule that separates the costs for the furniture bonus from those for the renovation. The provision will now have to go to the House for the second reading.

Among the other innovations approved by the Senate, there is the green light to the 10% dry coupon for rentals in municipalities affected by natural disasters which will be able to use them until 2017, ad hoc social housing interventions for the over 65s and the possibility of inserting a buy-out clause in the social housing rental contract. Instead, the disputed amendment which allocated 50 million euros for opera and symphonic foundations from the public administration debt fund was withdrawn.

As regards the bonus for furniture and appliances, the links are widened for the use of the relief within the ceiling of 10 thousand euros, the entity is released from the amount of the expenditure for the renovations. While on the Expo, among other things, the decree allocates a contribution of 25 million in 2014 for the Municipality of Milan. Among the measures approved on the Expo it is envisaged that the exceptions to the rules on sponsorship contracts and service concessions must exclude intermediaries.
