Starting from the first of September and for the next three months, “Dedicated to you” is back, the social card that made its debut in 2023 and this year presents itself with some new features.
The funding for the paper has been increased from 520 to 676 million euros, allowing the contribution of 500 euros per family, compared to 459 euros last year. This increase will allow the benefit to be extended to 130 thousand more people, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 1,33 million. However, it is important to underline that, despite the increase, the card will not be accessible to everyone: only a selected number of families, who meet specific requirements, will be able to benefit from it.
Who is eligible: here are the requirements
To access the “Dedicated to you” you need to be part of a family unit of at least three people, residents in Italya ISEE not exceeding 15 thousand euros per year. Furthermore, it is essential not to be beneficiaries, as of May 12, 2023, of other social inclusion or poverty support measures, such as the Inclusion Income, Naspi, Dis-Coll, wage supplementation fund (Cig), or any other form of wage supplementation.
La priority will be given to families with minors, following these criteria:
- Families with at least three members, of which at least one born before 31 December 2010.
- Families with at least one member born before 31 December 2006, with priority for those with a lower ISEE.
- Families of three members, with priority given to those with the lowest ISEE, regardless of the presence of minors.
Unused cards could also be allocated to single-person households in need, reported by municipal social services.
How it works and what to buy
This year, the paper No application required: it will be theINPS to select the beneficiaries, and Municipality will notify eligible families, providing instructions for collection at post offices. The card can be collected by showing up with the communication from the Municipality and an identity document.
Each card comes with a pin code, which allows you to make purchases in food stores affiliated with the Mastercard circuit. There are no commissions on payments, but it is not possible to withdraw cash.
What can you buy?
The card is not a passe-partout for all purchases. It can only be used to purchase basic food items at i partner shops, where discounts are expected. Although, as in 2023, there remain excluding alcoholic beverages, this year there are new possibilities: it will be possible to buy products with protected designation of origin (PDO) and protected geographical indication (PGI), frozen vegetables and baked goods, canned meat and tuna. In addition, the card can still be used to pay for fuel and local public transport passes.
Finally, an important detail: the funds disbursed via the card must be used by February 28, 2025, and the card must be activated and used for the first time by December 16, 2024.
