Expensive bills: 40 million euros for theatres, cinemas, parks and museums. Signed the decree

For now there is only the announcement of help for expensive bills. Gennaro Sangiuliano, Minister of Culture signed a decree worth 40 million euros in favor of theatres, cinemas, concert halls, museums and places of culture that have borne the increases in energy costs during 2022. The provision is linked to the Aiuti-Ter Decree and serves to mitigate the effects on the budgets of the country's cultural institutions. Within 10 days from the date of registration of the decree and therefore of its validity, the Directorates General for Live Entertainment, Cinema and Audiovisual, Museums of the Ministry will post a notice on their website with the methods and deadlines for submitting applications.

40 million for all places of culture

15 million are earmarked for theater halls and concert halls; 15 million to cinemas; 10 million to museums, archaeological parks and monumental complexes, both public and private. The allocation is of an extraordinary nature and Sangiuliano wanted to give a signal of attention to the structures that have not always managed to cope with the increases. There have been those who have reduced their activities or have resorted to loans to face high bills or simply increased the cost of the ticket. ” It is a fundamental support to avoid the risk of closures and therefore of a reduction of the cultural offer – said the Minister. But also the possible risk of an increase in the cost of tickets which, inevitably, would discourage public participation, jeopardizing the first signs of recovery”. The two years behind it - between the pandemic and the energy crisis - have marked the entire cultural organization of Italy. Managers and artists have suffered like families, also obscuring the vocation environmental. The year ended with a contraction in demand and a decrease in corporate sponsorships. THEThe state subsidy will be recognized in proportion to the difference between the amount of supply costs incurred in 2022 compared to the same period of 2019, as will appear on the invoices . These must be attached to the applications
