Aerospace, gigafactory and green hydrogen at the center of the meeting between Minister Urso and Unindustria Torino

Aerospace city, gigafactory, AI center, microchip district, hydrogen valley, Complex Crisis Area tender and large infrastructures. These are the themes at the center of the debate on the industrial future of the Turin area, which was held on Wednesday 12 April between Giorgio Marsiaj, president ofTurin Industrial Union and the Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso. "An intense conversation full of food for thought", explains a note, "in order to guarantee Turin serious opportunities to relaunch its economic and productive system".

Aerospace, microchips and artificial intelligence

Among the dossiers dealt with, a specific commitment was requested for the realization of the project of Aerospace city, which sees the Piedmontese capital at the forefront of affirming its national leadership in the sector, strong in internationally recognized technical, manufacturing and training skills.

Similarly, Marsiaj has requested a commitment to support the projects promoted by the Piedmont Region for the installation of a production plant of microchip, with a view to creating a sector district that can count on the ability to attract investments from major international players in the field of semiconductors and electronics. Also in the ICT area, the unresolved question of the center forartificial intelligence, with the request to pursue the full implementation of the law which in July 2021 had foreseen its birth and an annual funding of 20 million euros.

Automotive: gigafactory and hydrogen Valley in Turin

Turning instead to the sector ofautomotive, the president of the Turin Industrial Union has stimulated a reflection on the need to equip Italy with a plan that allows it to hold a significant share in the European market of batteries for electric mobility, proposing Turin to host a gigafactory dedicated. Furthermore, special attention was asked for the project of the Piedmont Region for the creation of a "hydrogen valley” which, in addition to allowing the production of green hydrogen, favors the triggering of a virtuous and generative mechanism of entrepreneurial initiatives in a green key and oriented to the principles of the circular economy on the regional territory.

Tender for the Complex Crisis Area and infrastructures

Another topic dealt with in the meeting was that of the tender for theArea of ​​Complex Crisis: the allocation of funds is proceeding slowly and the rapid conclusion of the preliminary phase has been hoped so that the selected companies can dispose of them and thus give life to their projects.

Finally, Marsiaj drew the Government's attention to a number of infrastructure investments essential; above all, TAV, Città della Salute and Pole of Sustainable Mobility and Manufacturing.
