WhatsApp, the double blue check leaves no way out: message read

If from today, using the WhatsApp chat, you find a double blue tick (and no longer green) do not be alarmed: it is the latest novelty of the famous app that connects millions of people in Italy and in the world and which has introduced, with a new update, the much talked about and dreaded "double blue check", which warns you of reading a received message. And not only that, like the famous “double green check” of the reception of the message by the virtual interlocutor.

To recap, therefore: one tick corresponds to "message sent", two ticks to "message received", two blue ticks to "message read". A precise service, which however seems to be at odds, as well as with the more or less legitimate obsessions of those who want to pretend they haven't read a message, with the delicate issue of privacy. So much so that it has already sparked lively reactions on the net.

The problem had arisen with other chats and with some e-mail services, first of all that of Google, Gmail. The latter has in fact introduced a system to confirm that messages have been read, which has not been very well received by users. However, the question seems more of principle than of substance, given that in a universe, that of social networks, which keeps everything and everyone in constant communication, the concept of privacy is at least confused as well as certainly downsized by the user's choices, which makes part of his life public and sifts through other people's bulletin boards.

However, the double blue check is not the only novelty in the pipeline for WhatsApp, even if for the actual updates of the app and in particular the one - highly anticipated - which should integrate VoIP calls within the service, there is no still no definite news. After the latest postponement, the approximate release date is still 2015.
